MMN Recap: J.D. Davis With Big Game For Syracuse | Mets Minors
AAA: Syracuse Mets (20-40) 18, Rochester Red Wings (25-34) 2 Box Score
Davis hit a double and a home run on Tuesday night. Since starting his rehab assignment with Syracuse, Davis is hitting .306/.457/.667 with three home runs and nine walks. Lee hit a home run and had three RBI in the blowout, and Mazeika had two hits and two RBI.
Stock struck out eight and turned in six innings of one-run ball to earn the win on Tuesday night. He gave up a run-scoring double in the fourth. Rentería pitched a scoreless ninth and struck out all three batters he faced to close out the game.
AA: Altoona Curve (32-36) 6, Binghamton Rumble Ponies (22-36) 3 Box Score
Fargas, recovering from a left shoulder injury, moved from St. Lucie to Binghamton to continue his rehab assignment on Tuesday. The center fielder drew a walk in the first and hit a single in the seventh. Carpio got the Mets on the board with a solo home run in the fourth, and the team added two more runs in the seventh with a Carlos Cortes sac fly and a Hayden Senger double.
Rennie allowed six earned runs over 4 ⅔ innings in his start to earn the loss. The Curve did all their damage in the first, striking early with a pair of run-scoring singles and a grand slam. Mitchell walked the leadoff batter in the eighth inning, but then got a double play and a groundout to end the inning and continue his strong season.
A+: Brooklyn Cyclones (20-39) 1, Jersey Shore BlueClaws (26-35) 0 Box Score
Alvarez, fresh off his home run in Sunday’s All-Star Futures Game, walked twice in his Brooklyn return on Tuesday. The Cyclones failed to score through the first seven innings, then Edgardo Fermin drew a leadoff walk in the eighth. A Mauricio single advanced Fermin to second, and an Alvarez groundout moved him to third. Jeremy Vasquez played the hero on Tuesday night, hitting a sac fly to drive in Fermin, the lone run of the game.
The trio of Vilera, Morris and Otanez combined to shut out Jersey Shore on Tuesday night. Vilera retired the first six Jersey Shore batters before walking the leadoff hitter in the third. He gave up his first hit of the night with one out in the fourth. Vilera allowed two consecutive one-out hits in the fifth, then got a strikeout and a flyout to end the Jersey Shore scoring threat. Morris chipped in two perfect innings, and Otanez walked three in two scoreless innings to get the win.

Tuesday’s game between St. Lucie and Palm Beach was postponed due to rain. It will be made up on Wednesday, July 14, as part of a doubleheader.
Foreign Rookie: DSL Mets1 (2-0) 4, DSL Angels (0-2) 3 Box Score
The first three DSL Mets1 hitters of the third inning reached base to load the bases. A sacrifice fly followed by a single gave the Mets a 2-0 lead. A balk by the Angels plated a Mets run in the seventh, and a triple drove home a fourth and final Mets run.
De Leon got the start and allowed only one earned run over three innings. Pacheco pitched a perfect fifth inning with one strikeout to earn the win. Mejia entered the 4-3 game with the bases loaded and two outs in the seventh inning, and he induced a groundout to end the game and earn the save.
Foreign Rookie: DSL Mets2 (2-0) 12, DSL Cubs Red (0-2) 8 Box Score
The DSL Mets2 collected eight hits and drew nine walks against DSL Cubs Red to improve to 2-0. De Los Santos, tripled and drove in three runs. Machado, an 18-year-old Venezuela native, walked, doubled and scored twice.
De La Cruz, 18, got the start and gave up two unearned runs over two innings of work. LHP Juan Veliz, 17, earned the win after pitching a scoreless inning. Sierra surrendered one hit and an unearned run in the ninth to close out the game. The DSL Mets2 pitching staff combined to allow eight hits and walk seven batters on Tuesday.
