Amazon has the Dewalt Mid-Tier Impact Wrench DCF894B for $149 – Sold by Amazon.com
Good price on a nice tool. This model is more than enough for most folks at home, and even if I was a pro, I’d probably still use it often over the 899 as its like half the weight. The precision control is a fun feature too. It slows down when its broken the fastener loose. I dont know how necessary it is, but I’m glad to see them innovating and adding features to their stuff.

It’s been this price or less quite often. I followed it for a while but eventually decided to just get the 899. I use my XR impact driver with an adapter for the easier stuff as it has 150 ft-lbs of torque and the 899 anything that requires more oomph. My decision was based on the idea that I don’t want to limit myself. The 899 has a selector switch for different levels of torque. It’s only drawback is the size but for those situations where it has been too big the impact driver has always been sufficient.
I bought the lower unit not realizing there were multiple torque specced 1/2 inch impacts. it works great for everything except my 2016 silverado where apparently Chevy thinks you need 140 ft/lbs on lug nuts…so the struggle is real on that one. wish I would have bought this unit instead. guess I’ll resort to using a breaker bar first before using the dewalt to finish the job.
