The past year and a half, we’ve all been struggling with social isolation, some of us even fearing for their livelihoods. What’s been missing are those priceless experiences that complement the mundane with the memorable: The events, highlights big and small, that manage to take us out of our everyday lives, and which transform seamlessly into reunions with an international family of strangers. The laid-back beer in the tiny club around the corner, the collective headbanging and moshing at festivals, being fully immersed at the gaming event or while cosplaying at the conventions.
This time has taught us that being interconnected is an essential building block of life. It has shown us ways to celebrate music together, to play together, to be different together and to support and hold each other. One thing is for certain: We will get it back, this deeply lived sense of ‘us’ that so defines who we are. And we will emerge from this time hopeful and stronger for it; strengthened as people, as friends and as a community of fans. STRONGER TOGETHER.

Die letzten anderthalb Jahre waren für uns gezeichnet vom individuellen Gefühl der sozialen Isolation bis hin zu existenziellen Ängsten. Was uns fehlt sind die unschätzbaren Erlebnisse, die unser Alltägliches auf so wundervolle Weise um das Besondere ergänzen und zu gemeinsamen Erinnerungen werden. Die Events, unsere großen und kleinen Highlights, die gern zu familiären Treffen mit Gleichgesinnten aus der ganzen Welt werden, das gesellige Bier im kleinen Club um die Ecke, das gemeinschaftliche Headbangen und Moshen auf Festivals, das Zocken beim Gaming-Event oder das Cosplay auf den Comic Conventions.
Diese Zeit hat uns bisher gelehrt, dass Zusammenhalt für uns ein essenzieller Baustein des Lebens ist, der uns Wege zeigt, gemeinsam Musik zu feiern, zu zocken, zusammen anders zu sein und uns gegenseitig zu (unter)stützen. Eines ist sicher: Wir werden zurückkehren können zum Ausleben dieses Wir-Gefühls, das uns so prägt.
Und wir werden so hoffnungsvoll wie gestärkt aus dieser Zeit hervorgehen; gestärkt als Menschen, als Freunde und als Gemeinschaft von Fans. STRONGER TOGETHER.
