WELT Korrespondent Christoph Wanner in Moskau ordnet die Kritik eines nationalistischen Militärbloggers an der Kreml-Spitze für Euch ein.

Nach Angaben eines nationalistischen russischen Bloggers gibt es unter russischen Offizieren in der Ukraine Unzufriedenheit über die Kriegsführung und Russlands Präsident Wladimir Putin. Igor Girkin, ein Nationalist und ehemaliger Offizier des Föderalen Sicherheitsdienstes (FSB), der Russland 2014 bei der Annexion der Krim und der Organisation prorussischer Milizen in der Ostukraine half, sagte in einem 90-minütigen Video, es gebe eine gewisse Unzufriedenheit mit der Führungsspitze. Der “Kopf des Fisches (sei) völlig verrottet”. Das russische Militär müsse reformiert und mit kompetenten Leuten besetzt werden, die eine erfolgreiche Militärkampagne führen könnten. “Es geht nicht nur mir so … die Leute sind keineswegs blind und taub: die Leute auf der mittleren Ebene verbergen nicht einmal ihre Ansichten, die, wie soll ich sagen, nicht gerade schmeichelhaft für den Präsidenten oder den Verteidigungsminister sind”, sagte Girkin in dem Video.

In Russland ist direkte öffentliche Kritik an Putin selten. Nationalistische Blogger haben sich aber bereits mehrfach kritisch über die Kriegsführung geäußert, insbesondere nach dem russischen Rückzug aus der ukrainischen Region Charkiw im September. Das russische Verteidigungsministerium kommentierte die Äußerungen Girkins nicht. Das US-Militär schätzt, dass sowohl in Russland als auch in der Ukraine mehr als 100.000 Soldaten getötet oder verwundet wurden. Russland hatte kurz nach dem Einmarsch in der Ukraine am 24. Februar Gesetze erlassen, die Gefängnisstrafen von bis zu fünf Jahren für eine angebliche Verunglimpfung der Streitkräfte und bis zu 15 Jahren für die Verbreitung von angeblich absichtlich falschen Informationen vorsehen.

Authorities searched offices of the European Parliament on Monday as part of an investigation into alleged corruption, Belgian prosecutors said.

A European Parliament vice president, Eva Kaili, and other lawmakers have been implicated in the scandal.

Kaili was arrested Friday after police allegedly found “bags of cash” in her home.

European Parliament President Roberta Metsola on Monday described the scandal as an “attack” on EU democracy.

“The enemies of democracy, for whom the very existence of this parliament is a threat, will stop at nothing,” Metsola told EU lawmakers in Strasbourg, France.

She blamed “malign actors linked to autocratic third countries,” saying they had “allegedly weaponised NGOs, unions, individuals, assistants and members of the European Parliament in an effort to subvert our processes.”

Germany says China is operating two illegal ‘police stations’ on its territory. These set-ups don’t have a fixed office, and are run by private individuals from the Chinese diaspora. The aim is to collect information on Chinese dissidents and citizens in exile and pass that on to Beijing.
Its a pattern that’s come to light across the world. An earlier report by Madrid based NGO Safeguard Defenders claimed there were more than a hundred such ‘police stations’ in at least 53 countries. Most exist illegally and aim to monitor, coerce and in some instances repatriate, those Beijing considers criminal or anti-China.
