Michael Mando’s Nacho Varga started out as a possible antagonist for Jimmy McGill. Over the seasons he developed into a sympathetic character who you couldn’t help but root for. Each attempt he made to get out of the game backfired, and in the end, he made the ultimate sacrifice to protect his father from the mistakes he made.
Better Call Saul season 6 went straight into an ending in Episode 3. One of the biggest mysteries of this prequel series has been what will happen to Nacho Varga? In the first two episodes, things were looking dire as he was on the run in Mexico. He realized that Gus also wanted him dead and had no one to turn to. In “Rock and Hard Place” he reached the conclusion that the only thing he could hope for was to make a deal to keep his father safe. He forfeited his own life to offer Manuel Varga that protection.
It was a fitting ending that made sense for the character, and Michael Mando delivered an amazing performance.
In the final 13 episodes, we’ll find out why Kim Wexler (Rhea Seehorn) isn’t in Jimmy’s life in Breaking Bad. We’ll learn the fates of Nacho Varga (Michael Mando) and Lalo Salamanca (Tony Dalton).

AMC announced today that the highly anticipated sixth and final season of its Emmy-nominated acclaimed drama Better Call Saul, produced by Sony Pictures Television, will premiere with two back-to-back-episodes on Monday, April 18 at 9:00pm ET/PT on AMC and AMC+. Heralded as “a beautiful tragedy and gripping character drama” (IndieWire) and “one of the best dramas on television” (Vulture), Saul’s 13-episode final season will roll out in two parts with the first seven episodes beginning April 18 and culminating with the series’ final six episodes beginning July 11.
Better Call Saul’s final season concludes the complicated journey and transformation of its compromised hero, Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk), into criminal lawyer Saul Goodman. From the cartel to the courthouse, from Albuquerque to Omaha, season six tracks Jimmy, Saul and Gene as well as Jimmy’s complex relationship with Kim (Rhea Seehorn), who is in the midst of her own existential crisis.
