West Ham book Women’s League Cup semi-final date with Chelsea after easing past Durham
West Ham eased into the Women’s League Cup semi-finals, prevailing over Championship side Durham.
After 30 minutes ticking by without a single chance to report, Durham – who are unbeaten in the Championship – almost went ahead.
A few minutes later, Adriana Leon battled down the left flank, and her cross into the six-yard box left Katerina Svitkova with an easy finish and her first goal for West Ham.
Both scorers had their share of chances in a slightly more lively second period. But it was substitute Hawa Cissoko who dealt the final blow with the host’s third goal six minutes from time.
