US President Joe Biden is wrapping up a four-day visit to Ukraine and Poland by meeting with leaders from the so-called Bucharest Nine, which includes nations from NATO’s eastern flank.
They came together in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine a year ago.
They worry that Moscow could take military action against them if Russia is successful in Ukraine. On Tuesday Biden pledged Washington’s commitment to NATO’s mutual-defense treaty during a speech in Warsaw.
Following the invasion of Ukraine, a number of eastern European nations previously part of the Communist eastern bloc fear their sovereignty is once again threatened by Russian power.
NATO has ramped up security on its eastern flank to help reassure those countries. The alliance has deployed extra troops to the Baltic republics of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, as well as Poland. Slovakia, Romania and non-NATO member Moldova are also nervous about Moscow’s intentions.

UU. gracias a los incentivos fiscales que ofrece ese país. De momento no habrá consecuencias para los trabajadores en Alemania, pero Europa teme que otras compañías sigan los mismos pasos.

Ukraine’s military said that Russian forces have continued attacking the eastern town of Bachmut, The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that there had been 59 missile attacks over a 24-hour period. This figure could not be independently verified. There has been fierce fighting in the region for months, with Russian forces concentrating on the strategically important town.

Russia’s parliament has begun the process of suspending Moscow’s participation in the 2010 New START nuclear treaty. President Vladimir Putin announced the suspension in a major national address on Tuesday, blaming the United States and the West for the breakdown in the pact. The New START treaty caps the number of nuclear warheads that Moscow and Washington can deploy. Russia’s state parliament, the Duma approved the suspension today. What are the consequences of today’s vote for the war in Ukraine?
