DeWALT DCF887D2 20V MAX XR Brushless 1/4″ 3-Speed Impact Driver Kit

#4

Currently $89 on Amazon for the bare tool (sold and shipped by Marketplace seller Toolup). That makes the batteries about $20 each. Fair if you need a couple 2ah batteries I guess. Lowest price for bare tool sold by Amz in the last 12 mos. is $98.

If you need the tool and want the batteries and case, this is a good deal.

If you need it, this a good deal ….the brushless 3 speed DCF887 with variable speed trigger has proven itself in the field with a rated 1,825 in-lb of torque that translates to 152 ft/lbs.

The DCB203 batteries with a fuel gauge are nice batteries and great for low power consuming tools…. an upgrade from the basic ones and not lugging a heavier battery around all day from the belt clip. One can find the larger amp batteries for $10/amp, but these will typically be more expensive….. $75 for the 2 batteries, charger and storage box would be very reasonable, that leaves about $55 for the bare tool.

How do you all like the Dewalt 887 impact driver? I recently got the 787 impact driver as part of a larger set. I have a Hitachi (before they sold to Metabo) that works just fine, but wanted the Dewalt circular and reciprocating saw, and decided to replace the older Hitachi.

Long story short, the Dewalt has nice power, is light weight, but has a very poor impact action. Meaning, that it has good torque, but very low impacting action, and started stripping screws. The Hitachi never had that problem, and handled the same screws fine.

Before I move to a nicer model, wanted to see if you all had any experience?
