Congratulations are in order for actor Wilmer Valderrama and model Amanda Pacheco, who are new parents!
On Feb. 21, the “NCIS “star and his fiancée announced the arrival of their first child, a baby girl born on Feb. 15.
“Life is an ever evolving journey, and for all those times when our path needs a light.. often angels are sent to show us the way and that we can be more.. straight out of heaven we welcome our first daughter,” the doting dad announced on Twitter, along with the hashtag #ItsJustUs3Now.

Valderrama and Pacheco used the same hashtag in December, when they revealed on social media that they were expecting their first child with two stylish images taken by Michael Muller, showing Pacheco’s baby bump.

Another update came in January, when they revealed the sex of their baby with a video clip showing an outdoor gathering of people watching a skydiver jump from a helicopter and spread pink smoke into the sky.
Earlier this month, Valderrama celebrated his 41st birthday and paid tribute his bride-to-be. “I love you all mucho! Thank you Amanda for my last bday gift before becoming a papa… you,” he wrote on Instagram alongside a picture of him kissing Pacheco’s baby bump.
On Feb. 14, the day before their baby was born, Valderrama posted a romantic Valentine’s Day photo on Instagram, writing, “Don’t worry about giving me Chocolates, you’re giving us a little miracle Chimichanga!”
The actor, who starred in “That 70s Show” from 1998 to 2006, asked Pacheco to marry him in San Diego on New Year’s Day 2020, Entertainment Weekly reported.
“I am the most grounded that I’ve ever been,” he told Entertainment Tonight immediately following their engagement. “I’m the most excited and the most energetic about what’s ahead of me. I’m ready for the next chapter.”
They were first linked in April 2019, when they were seen shopping in Los Angeles. And a couple of months later, they attended Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner’s wedding celebrations in France.
QCOSTARICA – As promised, on Monday, President Carlos Alvarado Quesada officially resigned his pension as former president, through a letter sent to the National Director of Pensions of the Ministry of Labor, Priscilla Gutiérrez.
At the beginning of 2020, the president expressed his intention to renounce the presidential pension during a television interview with Telenoticias, however, with this letter the procedure becomes effective.
Since the pension is a labor right established by law, it is not legally possible to totally renounce this benefit, so from this announcement the Ministry of Labor must take the necessary measures to comply with Alvarado’s request.
The President can also donate the money if he wishes.
“As I have stated throughout my tenure as President, I maintain a high commitment to public finances; therefore, at the end of my term as Head of State, I will not take advantage of the pension that my condition as former President of the Republic will generate,” stated the president in his letter.
Currently, a total of ten people receive a former president’s pension, of which seven served in the position: Óscar Arias Sánchez (two terms), Rafael Ángel Calderón Fournier, José María Figueres Olsen, Miguel Ángel Rodríguez Echeverría, Abel Pacheco de la Espriella, Laura Chinchilla Miranda and Luis Guillermo Solís Rivera.
The other three people are two former first ladies and the daughter of a former president: Karen Olsen Beck, the widow of José Maria Figueres Ferrer and mother of fomer president and 2022 presidential candidate, Jose Maria Figueres Olsen; Marita Camacho Quirós, widow of Francisco Orlich Bolmarcich and María Ulate Rojas, daughter of Otilio Ulate Blanco.
Under the Ley de Pensiones para Expresidentes (Ex-Presidents Pensions Law), all living ex-presidents receive a pension, as well as personal security, usually police, and a secretary whose salary is paid by the state. Retired presidents receive a pension based on the monthly salary of the Legislative Assembly deputies, which was ¢4,000,714 in 2020, including representation expenses, and which will pass to their widow in the event of death.
When Alvarado ends his term, on May 9, 2022, he will be 42 years old.

An erratic driving pattern and passing a vehicle in a no-passing zone led to the arrest of a local woman last week.
As stated in a Nye County Sheriff’s Office arrest report, Deputy Michael Tulipat was conducting routine traffic patrol along southbound Blagg Road near Highway 372, when the driver of a black sedan failed to yield after coming out of a private lot onto Blagg Road at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 7.
“As I proceeded southbound on Blagg Road, the black sedan turned on its high beams, obstructing my vision and proceeded to pass my patrol vehicle in a no-passing lane,” Tulipat’s report stated. “The sedan had a driving pattern indicating that the driver was under the influence.”
After performing a traffic stop on the vehicle’s driver, identified as Amanda Pacheco, Tulipat noted that the woman was crying and had glassy eyes.
“Amanda Pacheco was in actual physical control of the vehicle,” the report stated. “I asked Amanda if she had been drinking tonight and she confessed and said ‘yes’. As Amanda stepped out of the vehicle, she stumbled and had a difficult time balancing. Amanda stated that she consumed alcohol earlier in the evening.”
After allegedly refusing to perform the standard field sobriety tests, Tulipat, who located alcohol inside the vehicle, arrested Pacheco, who was subsequently transported to the Nye County Detention Center for driving under the influence.
Additionally, a records check on Pacheco’s criminal history revealed that she was twice convicted for the same offense within the past seven years.
Bail for Pacheco was set at $5,000.

At the Casper city council meeting on Tuesday, five people came up to the podium to talk about the issues they have with COVID-19 policies at the Wyoming Medical Center.
Michael Quest, who came up to speak about the Medical Center’s policy, said he doesn’t understand why it is the only hospital in town.
Councilmember Bruce Knell said later on that it would take an enormous investment by an entity, in the hundreds of millions of dollars, in order for there to be another hospital in Casper, which seems unlikely given the infrastructure available.
Sarah Beiber said she doesn’t agree with the policies of the Medical Center because it goes against the wishes of the community.
“It is hard to tell a nine-year-old whose grandmother is dying that he can’t go see them,” Beiber said. “They don’t allow visitors under the age of 12, they can tell birthing mothers you can’t have your religious belief here, you can’t have your quorum of people that you need to have while you’re having a baby…I understand your guys’ position that it is a private business, but the community is struggling to figure out where we balance having only one hospital and now it’s pushing people into, I don’t know, back-alley doctors, searching stuff on the internet, and prescribing themselves and doing what they will because they don’t want to go to the hospital because they’re scared of becoming prisoners at the hospital, that’s not community care.”
It is unclear what Beiber was referring to regarding back-alley doctors or being prisoners in a hospital.
According to the Banner Health page on visitor restrictions, the company that owns the Medical Center, nobody under 12 is allowed, one visitor per patient per day is allowed in in-patient areas, laboring mothers may have one support person with them along with a Doulas, and two visitors are permitted at a time for end-of-life patients.
Pat Tennon said that when his daughter was taken to the hospital and put in the emergency room after she had been hit by a car, he claimed he was unable to see her in the emergency room due to only one person being allowed in at a time, but because he is deaf, he needed a translator with him.
Tennon said he spoke with hospital administrators about the intersection of COVID-19 policies and ADA laws, and felt the conversation went well.
Mayor Ray Pacheco said that he wished there was more the council could do, but because the Medical Center is a private company, there is little the council is able to do.
Pacheco said that understands where people are coming from, as last year his father was facing medical issues and he was unable to see him.
Knell said that he agrees with the complaints brought, that he avoids going to the Medical Center if possible, and plans to call the hospital board on Wednesday to get more information, the latter received applause from those that had spoken.
