Kurt Busiek’s Astro City, Arrowsmith and More Head to Image in 2022
Image Comics will be the home of new installments from Kurt Busiek (Avengers, Superman, Thunderbolts, Iron Man, JLA) with the returns of Astro City, Arrowsmith, The Autumnlands and many more.
January 2022 will see Busiek team with artist Carlos Pacheco (Fantastic Four, Avengers Forever, Final Crisis, X-Men, Superman) for Arrowsmith: Behind Enemy Lines. The six-issue miniseries will then be followed in February by the release of a remastered hardcover collected edition of the original series. March 2022 features Astro City’s return as Busiek collaborates with Brent Anderson, Alex Ross, and Alex Sinclair for a one-shot special that introduces new characters, along with the release of collected editions. Free Agents is a new series by Busiek, co-writer Fabian Nicieza and artist Stephen Mooney that joins Autumnlands from Busiek, Benjamin Dewey and Jordie Bellaire for a late 2022 release.
Some of Busiek’s backlist of titles, such as Shockrockets, Superstar: As Seen on TV (with Stuart Immonen, Wade von Grawgadger and Jeremy Cox) and The Wizard’s Tale (with David Wenzel), will get re-releases from Image.
Arrowsmith: Behind Enemy Lines #1 goes on sale Jan. 19, 2022, followed by Arrowsmith: So Smart In Their Fine Uniforms on Feb. 23, 2022 and in bookstores March 1, 2022.
