Silverio E. Ortega
Silverio E. Ortega “Henry Ortega” was born on June 20, 1951, and passed away peacefully on January 4, 2022, with his best friend and ex-wife by his side, Mary Ortega. Before Henry passed away, he requested that his obituary be done his way. Henry was very loyal and a one-of-a-kind man. He was a hard worker all his life. He worked for Boyle Bros Drilling which later became Layne Christiansen Drilling Company for 46 years.
He drilled all over the United States and in many foreign countries. He was always the company’s number one choice to send anywhere and anytime. Henry was a very proud man, he always accomplished everything and anything he wanted in life.
He fought a long battle of ALS but was very grateful to Mary that she was by his side throughout the toughest battle he faced. Henry and Mary had one child, the pride of both their lives, Jamie Ortega. Henry was very proud of his daughter and all she has accomplished, just like her daddy. He also had a very dear co-worker and friend he thought of as his son, Pancho Polanco from Arizona. Pancho made several trips to Colorado to see Henry throughout his illness.
Henry will be remembered by many, but especially by his famous quote “to be a somebody, you have to make it happen, have pride on who you are and what you do in life”.
Henry was preceded by his parents, brothers and one sister. Survivors include his sisters Isabel, Sophia, and Linda and one brother Andrew (Nancy) Ortega, sister-in-law, Rose Ortega, one Uncle Diego and many aunts from New Mexico and many nieces and nephews.
On behalf of the Jamie, Mary and Pancho, we are thankful to those who came to help in many different ways, but much appreciation to Jessica Pacheco for being Mary’s right hand in with journey with Henry until his last day.
