United Tool and Fastener is excited to announce the acquisition of DeWalt’s newest portable power cleaner. The DEWALT 20V MAX* Power Cleaner (DCPW550B) (tool only) delivers approximately 10 times the cleaning power of a garden hose for portable cleaning on the jobsite or at home.

“This is a great portable DeWalt product,” said UTF owner, Bobby Williams. “I use it for all types of cleaning around my house and deck.”

This versatile tool can draw from any fresh water source with an included suction hose for when a garden hose is not easily accessible. The power cleaner can also be hooked up to a garden hose at home or on the jobsite by utilizing the convenient quick-connect adaptor.

The DEWALT 20V MAX* Power Cleaner enables tools and equipment in addition to decks, boats, outdoor furniture, and vehicles to be cleaned with just one device. The item comprises four nozzles for various types of cleaning that can all be stored on the unit, plus a soap bottle to efficiently tackle a variety of cleaning tasks.

Kurt Busiek’s Astro City, Arrowsmith and More Head to Image in 2022

Image Comics will be the home of new installments from Kurt Busiek (Avengers, Superman, Thunderbolts, Iron Man, JLA) with the returns of Astro City, Arrowsmith, The Autumnlands and many more.

January 2022 will see Busiek team with artist Carlos Pacheco (Fantastic Four, Avengers Forever, Final Crisis, X-Men, Superman) for Arrowsmith: Behind Enemy Lines. The six-issue miniseries will then be followed in February by the release of a remastered hardcover collected edition of the original series. March 2022 features Astro City’s return as Busiek collaborates with Brent Anderson, Alex Ross, and Alex Sinclair for a one-shot special that introduces new characters, along with the release of collected editions. Free Agents is a new series by Busiek, co-writer Fabian Nicieza and artist Stephen Mooney that joins Autumnlands from Busiek, Benjamin Dewey and Jordie Bellaire for a late 2022 release.

Some of Busiek’s backlist of titles, such as Shockrockets, Superstar: As Seen on TV (with Stuart Immonen, Wade von Grawgadger and Jeremy Cox) and The Wizard’s Tale (with David Wenzel), will get re-releases from Image.

Arrowsmith: Behind Enemy Lines #1 goes on sale Jan. 19, 2022, followed by Arrowsmith: So Smart In Their Fine Uniforms on Feb. 23, 2022 and in bookstores March 1, 2022.

Don’t Let The Parents See! California Ethnic Studies Advisor Tells Teachers To Be Careful About What Parents Can See

A presenter, Jorge Pacheco, at a California ethnic studies training session told teachers that they need to be “extra careful” about what teaching materials the parents see.

In Santa Clara County, California a training session was held for teachers about the new ethnic studies curriculum.

The presentation began with a “land acknowledgment”, this is a statement about the land a course is taught on. In the case of Santa Clara this “land acknowledgment” claims that the school occupies the territory of the Muwekma Ohlone Nation.

The presentation would continue with an examination of the “roots of settle colonialism.” Pacheco blamed colonialism and its many sins on oppressive white males who utilized genocide, God, patriarchy, white supremacy, and the idea of private property to create the United States.

Pacheco would go to say that the guidelines from the district and Parents who may look at their children’s classroom materials are “barriers” to ethnic studies.

From the Daily Wire: 

“[We] have to be extra careful about what is being said, since we can’t just say something controversial now that we’re in people’s homes. Parents can take out of context or see what materials are being used so need to be careful of what they see,” Pacheco wrote.

According to the presentation materials, Pacheco pushed ethnic studies seemingly to indoctrinate children and lead them to activism.

“The kids become a subject and you are intending to awaken them to the oppression that they aren’t aware of but that they are actively participating in,” Pacheco wrote. “Then how to lead to social change.”

Teachers were also encouraged to read “Pedagogy of the Oppressed” by Paulo Freire, which argues that oppressed people can only regain humanity by fighting for liberation with other oppressed people. The book was initially written for oppressed people living in Brazil in 1968, though American education institutions have reconstructed the lessons to fit the current racial climate.
