Szerinted gáz, ha nem magadat adod? Vagy ahhoz bátorság kell? És mihez kell még? Ahány élet, annyi válasz. Most megismerheted mit mond erről Vecsei H. Miklós színész, Keszthelyi Vivien autóversenyző és Lovrencsics Gergely labdarugó. Az ő életükben nem kérdés a beleállás.
Prior to the start of Spring Training, the Detroit Tigers were riding high with optimism. Notable additions like Javier Baez and Eduardo Rodriguez, along with rookie phenoms Spencer Torkelson and Riley Greene, gave Tigers’ fans reason to think playoff contention was a realistic expectation in 2022.
Fast forward to early May, and the picture has changed considerably. Injuries to Casey Mize, Matt Manning, Greene and others have contributed to a miserable 7-14 start. It’s obviously way too early for anyone to throw in the towel. The only question is, what, if anything, should be done to right the ship?
In a recent piece, my colleague Jacob Boes argued the Tigers should ride the storm out. Injured players should return to the lineup before any final assessments are done and trades made.
Well, Jacob, I respectfully disagree. It’s true, other teams aren’t likely to make a blockbuster this early in the season. My argument is, the Tigers don’t need a blockbuster. What they need is another piece, not unlike the Austin Meadows trade, that will help solidify the offense and keep the ship from sinking any further.
With that in mind, I’ve got an idea.
The Chicago Cubs’ Ian Happ is just the kind of player who could pay immediate dividends. Selected in the first round of the 2015 draft by the Cubs, Happ has shown a solid bat and position versatility that could boost the Tigers’ lineup in a hurry.
In 2021, Happ spent most of his time in the outfield, playing left field and center field for more than 50 games each. He played 16 games in right field, eight at second base, and two at third. In years past, Happ has played as many as 44 games at second base and 20 at third.

So, what would it cost the Tigers in trade chips to pry Happ from the Cubs? Quite a bit, according to Baseball Trade Values. The headliner going to the South Side would be third baseman/shortstop Gage Workman, Detroit’s No. 11 prospect according to MLB Pipeline.
Chicago would also receive No. 17 prospect Reese Olson, a starting pitcher, as well as outfielder Daz Cameron. While the cost seems high, consider that the Tigers have better prospects at shortstop (Cristian Santana, Ryan Kreidler), third base (Izaac Pacheco) and starting pitcher (Ty Madden, Dylan Smith, Joey Wentz, and even Alex Faedo).
Listen, I’m generally a prospect-hugger. But the Tigers have had too many losing seasons in a row. To keep any kind of hope about the postseason going, Al Avila can’t afford to sit on his hands the next four to six weeks. Happ isn’t the be-all, end-all, but he can help right now, and that’s enough.

B Live, a live music venue and restaurant, is officially opening to the public this week in the former Whitlow’s on Wilson space.
“The space, which was formerly a portion of beloved classic Whitlow’s on Wilson, will allow guests to engage with the local music scene and enjoy food and drink with a nostalgic, retro diner feel,” said a press release. “B Live will feature live performances 5 nights a week, with a rotating line-up of acoustic solo performances, live bands, and djs.”
The venue at 2854 Wilson Blvd is set to open on Thursday (May 12) with limited bar snacks menu. A full menu and brunch will start serving later in this month on May 25. The first three live musical acts are set with Bryen O’Boyle performing Thursday, My Hero Zero on Friday, and 8 Track Jones on Saturday.
B Live is the latest venture from Michael Bramson, owner of The Lot beer garden and Clarendon Pop-Up Bar in the Clarendon Ballroom space, both of which are located less than a half a mile away from his newest nightlife hangout.
B Live is occupying about 4,100 square feet of what was once Whitlow’s, the beloved Clarendon nightlife spot that closed last June. Capacity will be under 300, including a planned outdoor dining area with seating for 48.
Another Bramson concept, dubbed Coco B’s, is set to open on the rooftop later in the summer.
The interior of B Live “pay[s] homage to live music history” with vinyl record covers and musicians collages lining the walls, and “music hall lighting” adding to the ambiance.
The highlight is a mural entitled “Legends Live Forever” featuring caricatures of musicians such as “Bob Marley, Prince, and Janis Joplin crossing the famed Penny Lane in Beatle-esque fashion.” It was created by local artists Michael Pacheco and Rodrigo Pradel.
“There will be plenty of photo ops throughout the space: find your favorite album on the wall, stand by one of Legends that Live Forever, or snag a photo in front of a neon sign saying ‘bad decisions make good stories,’” notes the release.
The menu, though not yet finalized, is set to be curated by Chef Juan “Nacho” Olivera, formerly of Virginia Square’s Detour Coffee Co. and other local restaurants. There will be an all-day brunch menu, “Clarendon’s only DIY Bloody Mary Bar,” and “cereal milk shooters.”
“Cereal milk from childhood favorites like Lucky Charms, Fruity Pebbles, and Cocoa Puffs will be infused with vodka and liqueur and served in 4 oz mini cereal bowls,” the release says.
ARLnow reported that B Live was coming to the former Whitlow’s space in December, after Five Guys pulled out of a deal to come to the location.
In March, neighbors brought up concerns about noise at the new venue.
“We are all in support of music, we are all in support of living in an urban dwelling, we understand the considerations that come with living in these neighborhoods,” one neighbor told the County Board after it approved use permits for the space. “But it’s now at a point on Wilson Blvd, in Clarendon, that it’s having a tremendous impact on individuals.”

Former two-time WBC super middleweight titleholder David Benavidez has been preparing diligently ahead of his fight with David Lemieux at the Gila River Arena in Glendale, Arizona, on May 21.
Benavidez, who is rated No. 1 by The Ring at 168-pounds, began training camp on January 15 in San Diego, California.
“I came earlier because the first date they told me was the end of March and then they said April 30th and then they changed it to May 21,” Benavidez (25-0, 22 knockouts) told The Ring. “I thought I’m already here in training camp, I may as well keep training.
“I feel it worked out for the best. It’s a necessary fight to be working hard for, and it keeps me focused. Training more keeps me hungry and more motivated.”
The 25-year-old entered camp at 195-pounds but refutes and suggestions of him struggling to make the super middleweight limit of 168-pounds, stemming from missing weight by three-and three-quarter pounds, which cost him his world title ahead of a fight with Roamer Alexis Angulo in August 2020.
“No, there’s no struggle to make 168,” he explained. “The only time there was trouble making 168 was that one time I missed weight. I feel every fighter goes through one time, they miss weight. There’s been champions, Gervonta Davis, Canelo Alvarez etc. (who have missed weight also).
“The training conditions we (had back then) were way different from anything I had ever experienced; it was the bubble. Wehad to quarantine in the room, you had to train in the room, you weren’t allowed downstairs in the gym, we only had the treadmill for an hour a day. It was a completely different time. Now the nutrition has been better, the diet is better. I’m really dedicated to my diet since that has happened. I feel everything is cleared up with that.”
Benavidez, who spars on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, has rising young fighters Diego Pacheco and Jose Valenzuela with him.
“We have a great group of guys right here training, they keep me motivated,” he said. “They both had two sensational knockouts [recently], so I’m even more motivated to go in there and get a knockout for myself, too.”
A typical Benavidez day begins in the early morning.
“I’ll wake up at 8 a.m. run about 6 miles, then training from 1:30 all the way to 3:30. Then strength and conditioning from 7-8 every night.
“I eat breakfast after I’m done running. I eat three eggs and tomato. For lunch I eat fish with tomato and for dinner I eat fish and tomato. I drink about two gallons of water a day. A really clean diet.”
Benavidez doesn’t miss material goods, specific foods or the night life, but there is one thing he’s looking forward to after the fight.
“What I miss the most is my son and wife, just being at home – hanging out with them,” he said. “My wife and son came to San Diego, like five times.
“My son is a year and six months; I’ve been going to training camp for a while so I’ve missed out on a lot of his life already.”
Benavidez-Lemieux, plus full supporting undercard, will be broadcast on Showtime, beginning at 10:00 p.m. ET/ 7:00 p.m. PT.

Anno 1800 is a city building real-time strategy video game, developed by Blue Byte and published by Ubisoft, and is set to be launched within April 2019.
It is the seventh game in the Anno series, and returns to the use of a historical setting following the last two titles, Anno 2070 and Anno 2205, taking place during the Industrial Revolution in the 19th century.
Following the previous installment, the game returns to the series’ traditional city-building and ocean combat mechanics, but introduces new aspects of gameplay, such as tourism, “blue-printing”, and the effects of industrialisation influences on island inhabitants.
And if you’re interested in more Anno – I’ve played all the other games in the series!
