The former Minister of the Interior Carlos Basombrío considered that the president of the Republic, Pedro Castillo removed Mariano González from said portfolio because he represented an “immense risk” for him.
In dialogue with Canal N, he indicated that the actions of the head of state in this case are “transparent” because there were “very high possibilities” that Bruno Pacheco , Juan Silva and Fray Vásquez Castillo are captured.
“We are facing a fact in my transparent way of Castillo: he has taken it out because there were very high possibilities, and probably not very far away in time that they (the fugitives) will be captured”, he expressed.
“It is an immense risk (for Pedro Castillo)”, added Basombrío, who described it as “a national scandal of proportions”< /i> the way in which the president decided to do without González’s services.
“With this team you can do wonders, it is the best thing in the Police and that obviously, we no longer know if directly persecuted or evaluating what would be a betrayal of the persecuted, has decided to remove it by creating a national scandal of proportions”, he stressed.
Basombrío also referred who was critical of the decision of Mariano Gonzálezof assuming the Minister because, in his opinion, doing so is “an ignominy because we know who [Pedro] Castillo is”.
“Fifteen days later two things have been confirmed: that Castillo is Castillo and has made a gesture of transparency about what he is and that Mariano González, ‘betraying’ Castillo’s trust, had decided to face the problem of the fugitives”, he limited.
In this sense, the former official also estimated that the group of PNP officers who were going to support the Special Team of Prosecutors against the Corruption of Power, led by the superior prosecutor Marita Barreto, in the investigations and intelligence acts was one of the best in the history of the institution .
“The Police Intelligence Directorate has carried out an operation that he defends, which was obviously a harassment of a person who, being a criminal, was collaborating with justice,”, he said.
“In that interim he has formed what in my opinion is one of the best search teams in the history of the Police. I know the extraordinary trajectory of almost all of them ”, he sentenced.

It should be noted that the new police team will be coordinated by Colonel PNP Harvey Colchado, founder of the Diviac and current head of the Digimin Search Division.
Alongside Colchado will be PNP Colonels Walter Lozano Pajuelo (head of the Dirandro Intelligence), Franco Moreno Panta (current head of the Diviac) and Luis Alberto Silva Collazos (head of the Dirin Search Division).
