There once was a protester in Minneapolis
Shot dead by an agent who caused quite a fuss
The video shows excessive force
By untrained officers, of course
Their actions condemned by all of us
There once was a president bold,
Accused administration, so cold.
Encouraged the people,
To keep up the steeple,
Protesting for rights, so they’re told.
In the South, a storm raged with might,
Leaving power lines coated in ice’s white.
A million customers, no power in sight,
As tree branches groaned under the icy plight,
Sunday plunged into a dark, chilly night.
A storm caused travel woes, what a shame,
Airlines faced delays, it’s no game,
Cancellations widespread,
Passengers full of dread,
Nation’s airports in winter’s fierce aim.
There once was a man named Trump
Who claimed the Police were in a slump
He asked where they were
As ICE faced a stir
But his words just made folks jump
There once was a host with a view
Predicting news before it came true
In Minneapolis, one night
A nurse was killed in a fright
Proving his words quite sadly so cruel
There once was a boy just five years old,
With his father in Texas, so cold.
They protested in jail,
Behind fences, oh pale,
Immigrant families so bold.
An American named Honnold, so deft
Climbed Taipei 101, no safety left
No ropes or gear in sight
He conquered the height
A risky stunt that left us all bereft
There once was a man named Alex Jeffry,
With his Catahoula Leopard dog, oh my!
They’d adventure outdoors,
Till death closed the doors,
Now in memories, together they lie.
There once was a man of thirty-seven,
Whose death caused a city to reckon.
Protests erupted in ire,
Over ICE’s dark fire,
And Renee Good’s fate left hearts heavy laden.
