Jose Luis Pacheco and Mimose Dulcio.

The estranged husband of a missing 39-year-old Florida woman was arrested after police say they uncovered evidence that “suggested” he killed her inside of their home. Jose Luis Pacheco, 36, was taken into custody on Monday and charged with one count of second-degree murder in the death of Mimose Dulcio, authorities announced.

According to a press release from the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, a missing person alert for Dulcio was issued on Saturday, Nov. 12. Investigators said she had last been seen at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 10 at her home located in unincorporated Central Broward.

The case was initially taken up by the sheriff’s office Missing Persons Unit. Investigators looking into the circumstances surrounding of Dulcio’s disappearance soon turned the case over to the BSO Homicide Unit, the release states.

During their investigation, detectives met with Pacheco, who stated he had not seen or heard from Dulcio in a couple of days and that they were in the process of getting a divorce,” BSO spokesperson Gerdy St. Louis wrote in a news release. “Through investigative methods, a search warrant was obtained for the couple’s home and shared vehicle. During the search, investigators found evidence that suggested Dulcio had been murdered in the couple’s home, and that her body had been transported in the couple’s shared vehicle and disposed of in an unknown location.”

An arrest warrant for Pacheco was issued on Monday. Detectives with the BSO Violence Intervention Proactive Enforcement Response (VIPER) Unit, in conjunction with officers from the Miami-Dade Police Department arrested Pacheco in Miami.

He is currently being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on an out of county warrant without bond as he awaits his tranfer to the Broward County Main Jail.

According to a report from Miami ABC affiliate WPLG, relatives of Dulcio went to her home located in the 400 block of NW 30th Avenue near Fort Lauderdale, Fla., to check on her. Dulcio reportedly still shared the house with Pacheco despite the impending divorce .

Once there, they reportedly found her cell phone smashed and stuffed between the cushions of her couch. There were also several broken windows, a broken television, and all of her credit cards had been left behind, according to a report from CBS News.

Dulcio’s sister, Seminta Dulcio, told WPLG that her sister was supposed to get Pacheco out of the house with an emergency restraining order but was unable to because the courthouse was closed due to Hurricane Nicole.

“She is going through something with an individual, and I don’t take these words lightly, I am going to call him a monster,” Seminta reportedly said.

Additionally, Seminta reportedly told NBC Miami that no one could get a hold of Pacheco for approximately 10 hours on Friday.

Fritz Beats Tiafoe In Acapulco Battle Of Top-Ranked Americans

In a Thursday matchup of the top two Americans in the Pepperstone ATP Rankings, Taylor Fritz underlined his status as the No. 1 man from the United States with a straight-sets win against Frances Tiafoe at the Abierto Mexicano Telcel presentado por HSBC.

The Acapulco third seed earned a 6-3, 6-4 victory in an entertaining match that crescendoed as it neared its conclusion. Tiafoe, playing to the crowd, turned on the style with an underhand serve and a slew of drop shots as he tried to recover an early break in the second set. But Fritz, who landed just 50 per cent of his first serves, finished the job to reach his third semi-final in as many events.

“I’m happy with how I played the big points,” said the 25-year-old, who saved all four break points he faced, including three in the second set. “It’s really easy to get frustrated with myself when I’m missing every first serve.

“It’s really easy to get down on myself for that, and I kind of just fought it out, accepted that I’m going to have to play and grind out all these points and I wasn’t going to be getting the amount of free points that I’m used to getting. I’m pretty proud of how I competed through a lot of those long games on my serve.”

Fritz scored an early break in both sets, in the fourth game of the opener and the first game of set two. While Tiafoe challenged the World No. 5’s serve, Fritz was able to erase each of those four break points — not with big serves, but by coming up with the goods in several dramatic rallies.

With Tiafoe trailing 2-4 in the second, he mixed in a well-placed underarm serve at 40/0 to spark a fun point that ended on a missed Fritz tweener, sparking smiles from both men and cheers from the crowd. But after missing out on two break points in the previous game, Tiafoe was not able to threaten on return down the stretch.

Fritz earned his sixth straight win against Tiafoe, improving to 6-1 in their ATP Head2Head that dates back to 2016. He also extended his current winning streak to seven after his Delray Beach title last month, with just two sets lost in those seven wins.

Fritz will next face another American in seventh seed Tommy Paul, a 6-2, 6-2 winner against countryman Mackenzie McDonald earlier in the day.

“I’d say it’s similar to how I would play Frances,” Fritz said of the matchup. “He’s one of my close friends, we both know each other’s game really well. Tommy’s been playing well. It’s been a while since we’ve played each other and it’s going to be a good match.”

Fritz leads their ATP Head2Head 2-1, with their most recent meeting last year in Miami.

In Paul’s win against McDonald, both sets played out identically in terms of games won, with the seventh seed breaking serve in the fourth and the final game of each. After saving an early break point, Paul won 16 straight points on serve beginning in his last service game of the opening set. He finished with 19 winners and 6 unforced errors.

Fourth seed Holger Rune also advanced to the Acapulco semi-finals when Matteo Berrettini retired due to a right-leg injury with the Dane leading 6-0, 1-0. The 19-year-old dominated from the start, pulling the Italian around the court by dictating the baseline rallies.

“I think it was close to perfection from my side. I was playing so disciplined from the start to the finish,” said Rune, who lost just seven points in the match. “Of course it’s never nice to end this way. I wish Matteo the best. But if I look at my own level, I was super proud of how I handled the situation so I just can’t wait for the semi-final.”

Eighth seed Alex de Minaur is next up for Rune. The Aussie reached the last four with a 6-2, 6-2 win against Japan’s Taro Daniel.

De Minaur won the final four games of both sets in the victory and did not face a break point after he dropped serve at 2-0 in the opener. The 24-year-old was untouchable on his first serve, losing only one point behind it (21/22) in the one-hour, 37-minute match — though he landed his first delivery at a 42 per cent clip.

The World No. 22 has stormed into the Acapulco semis with the loss of just eight games in three matches. He defeated Mexican wild card Rodrigo Pacheco Mendez in the opening round and qualifier Jacopo Berrettini in the last 16.

VIO-LENCE’s SEAN KILLIAN Explains Absence From Melbourne Concert, Blasts ‘Haters’ – BLABBERMOUTH.NET

Vocalist Jason North of TRUTH CORRODED filled in for Sean Killian at VIO-LENCE‘s March 11 concert in Melbourne, Australia after Killian fell ill shortly before the performance and could not make the gig. VIO-LENCE‘s lineup for the show consisted of North, drummer Adrian Aguilar (EXMORTUS),guitarist Miles Dimitri Baker (VOIDBRINGER, INTERLOPER, ex-RINGS OF SATURN),bassist Christian Olde Wolbers and guitarist Ira Black (VICIOUS RUMORS, HEATHEN, METAL CHURCH).

In a new video message posted on the VIO-LENCE Instagram, Killian explained his absence from the Melbourne concert, saying (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “Got a little food poisoning the other day that fucked my whole day up and a couple of days after. Thank God we had some time off. But, yeah, I ate something for breakfast; I think it was these shitty mushrooms or something. And I went to soundcheck, felt okay, and then all of a sudden got my ass kicked. I puked a couple of times. You know how it is with food poisoning; it comes out of both ends. So that’s been difficult the last couple of days. Unfortunately, I missed playing in Melbourne, which I was really looking forward to, ’cause it was a great club, great crowd. And we’ll definitely be back; I’ll figure out a way to get back there and make that show up. I know Jason stepped in and he did his best, ’cause we were just thinking we either don’t play and the fans go home with half a night and half a belly of whisky instead of a full belly. So I talked to the promoter, and he found a guy that’s in a band, Jason, and he went up and did his best. It’s not what we wanted to do, but at the time, it was, like, ‘Well, these people are all here. They can still hang out, hear some music and have a good time and go home. And then I’ll figure out a way to get back to Melbourne, Australia.'”

He continued: “So, thanks for all the support. And there’s always haters out there no matter what. So they can talk all the shit they want; I really don’t care. It doesn’t affect me in any way. I don’t even read half of these clickbait magazines. Actually, I don’t ready any of ’em, to tell you the truth. I’ve got my lovely woman at home; she reads ’em and tells me the good comments and doesn’t tell me the bad ones, ’cause who cares about them anyway? A bunch of basement dwellers.”

Sean added: “I’m feeling a lot better. Just a little hiccup in the road. Shit happens. It’s not what happens; it’s how you deal with it.”

VIO-LENCE played its first show with Aguilar late last month at the Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood, California. Aguilar joined VIO-LENCE following the departure of Perry Strickland.

Founding VIO-LENCEPhil Demmel is sitting out the group’s shows in Asia, Australia and New Zealand this month and is being replaced by Baker.

Notably, VIO-LENCE‘s concert in Melbourne featured none of the members from the lineup that played its first comeback gig in April 2019 at the Oakland Metro in Oakland, California. The VIO-LENCE lineup that appeared at the Metro consisted of Killian, Demmel, Strickland, bassist Deen Dell and guitarist Ray Vegas.

Strickland announced his departure from VIO-LENCE last month by sharing a video of him performing with the band and captioning it: “I’ll Miss playing these songs !” After one fan asked Perry in the comments to clarify whether he has in fact exited the group, Strickland responded: “yes about a month ago”.

Among the people reacting to Strickland‘s announcement was former OVERKILL and VIO-LENCE guitarist Bobby Gustafson, who wrote: “Good luck with what ever you do in the future. We had some good times finally.”

On February 26, Demmel addressed VIO-LENCE‘s future in an Instagram Live video, saying it was “kind of weird playing these shows” with “a bunch of fill-ins and me and Sean.” He added that while Adrian is “awesome” and the Whisky gig “was packed”, he is “just kind of really torn right now in the sense of what VIO-LENCE is and what it’s gonna be and what my role is gonna be in that and how I feel about that.” Demmel went on to say that he told Killian he “wanted to shut [VIO-LENCE] down,” but then he realized “that to ask that of those dudes to not do it anymore is selfish on my part.”

Demmel also confirmed that he will perform with VIO-LENCE at the Hell’s Heroes V preparty on March 23 in Houston, Texas and at the Milwaukee Metal Fest in late May in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, but revealed that he will likely scale down his live appearances with the band, to the point where he will no longer play any live shows with the group.

In March 2022, VIO-LENCE released a new EP, “Let The World Burn”, via Metal Blade Records. The five-song collection, VIO-LENCE‘s first original release since 1993’s “Nothing To Gain”, was tracked at Trident Studios in Pacheco, California by Juan Urteaga (MACHINE HEAD, EXODUS),mixed by Tue Madsen (DARK TRANQUILLITY, HEAVEN SHALL BURN) and mastered by Ted Jensen (ALICE IN CHAINS, DEATH ANGEL).

Formed in 1985, VIO-LENCE helped define and refine what came to be known as the Bay Area sound, dropping three seminal albums before splitting in 1993. Leaving behind a heady legacy, they reformed briefly a couple of times in the intervening years before becoming a full-time going concern once more in 2019. After playing a string of successful shows, the quintet started to think about new music and delivered “Let The World Burn”, showcasing their first new material in 29 years.

VIO-LENCE‘s recording lineup on “Let The World Burn” consisted of Gustafson, Demmel, Killian and Strickland along with Olde Wolbers.

VIO-LENCE reunited soon after Demmel left MACHINE HEAD in late 2018.

Demmel was in MACHINE HEAD for nearly 16 years, during which time he played on five of the group’s studio albums: “Through The Ashes Of Empires” (2003),“The Blackening” (2007),“Unto The Locust” (2011),“Bloodstone & Diamonds” (2014) and “Catharsis” (2018).

VIO-LENCE played its first show with Black in August 2022 at the Brutal Assault festival in Jaromer, Czech Republic.

Black, who grew up in the Bay Area and previously played with VICIOUS RUMORS, HEATHEN and METAL CHURCH, filled in for Demmel, who was on the road at the time with LAMB OF GOD as the temporary replacement for Willie Adler.

Although MACHINE HEAD frontman Robb Flynn was part of VIO-LENCE‘s classic incarnation and played on the band’s debut album, “Eternal Nightmare”, he wasn’t approached about taking part in the band’s reunion.
