There once was a president bold
One right was pointed out, we’re told
He pondered the news
And considered his views
Deciding on actions to unfold

There once was a late night host
Who criticized the president’s boast
Sending the military to LA
To handle protests and fray
In limericks, the news was engrossed

There once was a journalist so fine,
From The New York Times, so divine,
He said, “It’s always possible,”
In a tone so amenable,
His words left readers on cloud nine.

There once was a man named Trump
Whose security adviser gave a thump
He said the President’s just making a point
In his actions, there’s no real joint
But in the end, it’s all just a lump.

There once was a billionaire in his prime
Whose middle-of-the-night move was a crime
Some saw it as despair
A mark of his nightmare
But he was just running out of time.

Members of the Guard took a stance,
Watchful eyes behind plastic, enhanced,
Though not part of the arrests,
They stood at their best,
Protecting with power and lance.

There once was a host of Late Night
Who zinged the president with great might
His scathing line stung
And the president flung
Insults back, quite the sight

There once was a woman who said
“I can’t fight back; I’m pregnant,” she pled
Encountered by officers in blue
In a situation she couldn’t undo
Her plea for help went unsaid

There once was a prez from the States
Whose speech at Fort Bragg stoked debates
His words, so partisan
Drew online condemnation
For stirring up divisive hate

There once was a man named Trump
Who sent troops to LA in a clump
MSNBC did say
It was all for display
His motives, they said, were a jump
