There once was an outbreak quite grim,
In Michigan, cases did swim.
Ohio and New York,
Also feeling the torque,
Reported numbers quite prim.

A user asked, “Will you arrest yourself?”
To the defense secretary’s own self.
With a smirk and a grin,
He replied with chagrin,
“I’ll consider it, but not to great wealth.”

There once was a man full of dread
Failed victims, they fiercely said
We deserve much more
Our country, they swore
For better justice, they pled

A judge named Amy Coney Barrett,
Sought a budget increase that’s fair,
The threats never cease,
She pleaded for peace,
Fourteen million she asked for with care.

There once was a senator named Wyden
Accusing Kennedy of breaking the law, ridin’
He urged third-party folks
To drop out of their yokes
In Iowa, where the races were sidin’

There once was a boy of sixteen,
To adult court, he was seen.
A girl of just fifteen,
In juvenile court she did glean.
Both to face trial, it seems.

There once were some ICE agents so bleak
Who caused the death of two men, so to speak
Now a directive is made
To avoid this tirade
Let’s hope more lives they will not seek

There once was a tragic refrain
Of deaths that ICE could not explain
In Texas and Maine
Shots were fired in vain
Leaving heartache and sorrow and pain

There is one very clear goal,

To report the truth, that’s the toll,
Seeking facts with fervent zeal,
Their duty, the public to enroll.

There once was a president who

All sorts of new ventures he’d bring
From buildings to golf clubs, he’d cling
